it's time for the US to disengage from NATO

Agreed.  You can make the group into free trade partners, but forget about protecting them militarily.  We don't need bases in Germany anymore.    Let the French defend France.  We can make bilateral agreements with the Czech Republic and Poland for missile defense, but we don't need NATO for that.

And while we're on the subject of disengagement, what do you need the United Nations for?  Let's drop out and spread the wealth around to Americans for a change.
